ITMA has been the world\u2019s most established textile and garment machinery exhibition since 1951. Over the years, it has been a catalyst for change and competitiveness for the industry.<\/p>\n

ITMA\u00a0 2015 has\u00a0 achieved a new milestone,<\/h2>\n

attracting the biggest number of exhibitors since the show\u2019s launch way back in 1951. The 17th edition of ITMA has 1,691 exhibitors from 46 countries and economies. The largest participating country in terms of space booked is Italy. Italian exhibitors booked a total\u00a0 of\u00a0 32,540 square\u00a0 metres.\u00a0 This\u00a0 is followed\u00a0 by\u00a0 Germany\u00a0 at\u00a0 21,380square\u00a0 metres, Switzerland at 5,530 square metres, and Spain with 4,540 square metres.<\/p>\n

ITMA 2015 features\u00a0 exhibits\u00a0 clustered\u00a0 into\u00a0 19\u00a0 chapters.\u00a0 The\u00a0 sectors\u00a0 range\u00a0 from\u00a0 spinning, web formation,\u00a0 winding\u00a0 and\u00a0 texturing,\u00a0 weaving,\u00a0 knitting\u00a0 and\u00a0 hosiery,\u00a0 embroidery\u00a0 and braiding,\u00a0 finishing,\u00a0 dyestuffs\u00a0 and\u00a0 chemicals,\u00a0 software,\u00a0 logistics,\u00a0 plant\u00a0 operations,\u00a0 recycling and education to garment making and textile processing, printing and fibre and yarn.<\/p>\n

Focus on industry sustainability<\/h2>\n

The theme of ITMA 2015 is \u2018Master the Art of Sustainable Innovation<\/a>\u2019. The exhibition is not only a\u00a0 mega\u00a0 technology\u00a0 showcase;\u00a0 it\u00a0 also\u00a0 features\u00a0 initiatives\u00a0 underpinning\u00a0 the\u00a0 focus\u00a0 on sustainability.<\/p>\n

Among the efforts is the launch of the ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award, the rebranding of the\u00a0 Research\u00a0 and Education Pavilion to Research and Innovation Pavilion, and many knowledge-sharing platforms to drive home the sustainability message.<\/p>\n
